“I build, scale and turn around late-stage and commercial businesses. Three times a founder, ten years running global oncology, and the same job every time: find where value can still be created and build the team to deliver it.”
Yariv Hefez
Founder. Former SVP and Global Head, Oncology Business Franchise, Merck KGaA.
Bio
Yariv Hefez founded Accumulating Impact after eighteen years at Merck KGaA, most recently as Senior Vice President and Global Head of the Oncology Business Franchise. Between 2021 and 2026 the franchise P&L he ran grew from €1.4B to €2.0B. He took ERBITUX, a brand the market had written off, to blockbuster status and made it the company's best-selling healthcare product. He also initiated and co-led the $3.4B acquisition of SpringWorks Therapeutics.
He has built from zero three times. In 2003 he co-founded a boutique law firm and ran it as COO and Managing Director. In 2011 he was the first person recruited to build Merck KGaA's biosimilars business, later acquired by Fresenius Kabi for €656M. Accumulating Impact is the third. Over the years he has assessed more than 300 companies across biotech, pharma, medtech and diagnostics, and conducted more than 70 due diligences, most of them as lead. He has originated, negotiated, sponsored or governed more than 50 deals with partners in China, Japan, Korea, India, Brazil, the United States, Canada and Europe.
He trained as a lawyer and holds an MBA from IMD. Law taught him to understand the logic of the person on the other side of the table. Building businesses taught him that a strategy only works when it is built with the people who have to deliver it.
He speaks and writes on where the industry is going next: AI as an enabler of commercial decisions, new operating models, and how deals and venture are changing as more innovation comes from China. He has chaired and spoken at more than 45 conferences since 2010.
The network model
Accumulating Impact is small by design. Yariv leads every engagement himself, from the first conversation to the last. For each piece of work we bring in the specialists it needs, for example in market access, regulatory, clinical development or finance, drawn from people we have worked with across our careers. The team is built around your problem, not around a bench that has to be kept busy, so you pay for the expertise the work needs and only for as long as it needs it. Nothing is handed to a junior team after the first meeting, because there is no junior team.
